Bowhunting in Zambia
The beginning of 1993 bowhunting became legal for the first time in this country. The National Parks & Wildlife Department has indicated that they will issue bow licenses to all qualified applicants. Unfortunately the safari industry has suffered some setbacks due to the government intervention in the last few years but is doing very well now.
There is a lack of operators in this country that have any experience with bowhunting so extra caution is advised when booking a bowhunt in this Zambia. This country has some specialized species such as Puku and Sitatunga to offer in addition to the main menu of animals. Zambia, however, may be the best place in Africa for bowhunters to harvest the big cats ( lion and leopard) as well as hippo & crocodile.
