Dwight began his career as an outdoor writer in 1971 and made his living as
a freelance writer and lecturer for 25 years. Since 1996, he has served as
Editor for BOWHUNTER magazine. In addition to his editing duties, he writes
many features and editorials for the magazine, as well as a back-page
column, The Wild Side. He also oversees production of Bowhunter Magazine TV,
which began airing on The Outdoor Channel in July, 2005, and now airs
regularly on The Sportsman Channel.
Dwight has written nine books on archery and backcountry hunting, including
Bugling for Elk, Hunting Open-Country Mule Deer, and Bowhunter’s
Encyclopedia. He has been featured in several videos, including: Hunting
Rocky Mountain Mule Deer, Elk Fever, Buck Fever, and Bowhunter Magazine’s
Video Journals. Dwight has bowhunted for big game for nearly 40 years. With
bow and arrow he has taken deer in a dozen states, elk in seven, and a total
of 23 big game species from across North America. He also has taken numerous
species in Africa.
Dwight’s vast and varied background as a traveling bowhunter makes him
uniquely qualified as an advisor. We are certainly fortunate to have his
